Flex Line on Rota
One of the most exciting additions in this month's update at Opsyte is the introduction of the Flex Line on the rota a feature that has been highly requested by our users. Designed to help managers better understand and respond to variations in sales performance, Flex offers a dynamic visual representation of how much additional labour budget becomes available when actual sales exceed the Base Sales figure you’ve input into your forecast.
To begin using Flex, head to the Forecast page within the Financial section of the platform, where you can input and edit your Base Sales and any forecast adjustments. Once this data is entered, the Flex calculations will be automatically reflected at the bottom of the Rota page, offering an at-a-glance summary of the available labour budget based on real-time sales projections.
The Flex bar also serves as a real-time budgeting guide. If it turns orange, it signals that your actual staffing costs have already exceeded the budget tied to your Base Sales estimate, even if sales haven’t yet risen to meet your projection. This visual cue encourages managers to reassess staffing levels promptly, avoiding unnecessary overspend while still maintaining operational efficiency.
Additionally, for greater clarity, users can hover over the Flex figure to reveal the exact amount of labour budget available for each day. This interactive element supports quicker decision-making, helping managers stay in control of labour costs and align staffing more closely with sales trends. It’s a small yet powerful addition that brings clarity, responsiveness, and better control to rota management.
Whether you're scheduling staff for a quiet Monday or a bustling Saturday night, Flex equips you with the insights needed to balance cost-efficiency with operational excellence. Want to dive deeper into how Flex works and how to make the most of it? Follow the link to our article here.
Invoices - Improvements and Updates
For single site companies, invoices that have been automatically processed without any human interaction display a robot icon at the top of the screen. This visual cue will helps users identify which invoices have been handled entirely by the system, helping to streamline and automate your workflow!
Users on the Invoice System screen will now see a loading wheel once they have initiated an upload. This visual prompt indicates that the upload process has started, preventing duplicate submissions and acknowledging that the system is processing the invoice.
Till Data Download Progress Bar
A new progress bar feature has been added to enhance the user experience during the re-download of Till data. This addition provides real time visual feedback, allowing users to monitor the status and completion time of data transfers more effectively. The progress bar helps reduce user uncertainty during potentially lengthy re-downloads. Just another way this update reflects efforts to improve usability and operational efficiency. Woohoo!
Introducing Webinars from Opsyte
We will be launching a series of live training webinars designed specifically for staff members, covering key features of both the desktop portal and the mobile app. These interactive sessions will provide attendees with the opportunity to ask questions in real time and view live demonstrations of the software in action. Each webinar will be recorded and made available afterward, allowing teams to share the material with colleagues and support ongoing training.
The first session will focus on helping new employees get started with the app, no prior experience required. Topics will include essential functions such as clocking in and out, checking rotas, and navigating the core interface to ensure they can use Opsyte effectively in their day-today roles without issues.
