As the leaves begin to turn, Opsyte is turning up the innovation with our latest September updates! We're saying farewell to summer and hello to new features that will keep your operations running smoothly into autumn. Join us as we dive into this season of efficiency and growth!

What do we mean by a Requested Feature?

We encourage our clients to suggest ideas for improvement by using the Feature Requests option in our sidebar. The Feature Requests page allows you to submit your ideas for improvement, as well as vote and comment on those left by other users. Please get involved and help us to decide what to develop next!


Rota Improvements

We’re thrilled to share some exciting improvements to the rota system. Now, when you right-click on a shift, you’ll see additional details about it, along with a new option to add shift notes. This allows you to easily share important information directly with the employee.

We’ve made a helpful update to the rota approvals page. Now, the duration of each shift is clearly displayed beneath the hours, making it easier to see how long each employee’s shift was at a glance.

We’ve introduced a new feature in Opsyte to help ensure compliance and accuracy in your scheduling. You now have the option to prevent staff from being rostered if they haven't completed their staff details or passed a right to work verification check. You can enable these settings under "Other Company Settings" in the "Rota Settings" section.

We’ve enhanced the rota to clearly display its current status—whether it’s in Draft, Published, Locked, or Finalised. This update makes it easier for you to quickly see which stage the rota is at and what actions are needed next.


Invoice System

We are excited to announce a new feature in our invoice system that enhances your ability to organise and manage documents more efficiently. You can now sort your invoices by document type, including statements and credit notes, ensuring faster and more convenient access to specific documents.


Holiday Calendar

We have made a new update to the holiday calendar feature. The current day is now clearly highlighted with an outlined box, making it easier for users to quickly identify today’s date at a glance. This visual enhancement improves the user experience by streamlining navigation, ensuring more efficient holiday planning and scheduling.


Employee Signature

You can now choose between your legal name and your preferred name (if set) when selecting a signature for documents or invoices on desktop. Simply update your signature by editing your employee profile.


Tronc Legislation

As of 1st October, significant changes to Tronc legislation will come into effect, and businesses need to be aware of the new rules. This new legislation impacts how businesses, particularly those in the hospitality industry, manage tips, gratuities, and service charges.
